boatexam.io is an independent boating safety education and practice-exam platform serving learners across the United States and Canada. We build mobile-first lessons, timed practice exams, and an AI tutor — designed to help future boaters pass their official exam with confidence and become safer on the water.

Why we built this

Boating safety content online today is dated, fragmented, or hidden behind clunky purchase flows. We believe modern learners deserve a faster, friendlier study experience that meets them on their phone, in plain language, with explanations for every wrong answer.

What we are not

We are not a NASBLA-approved course provider, a Transport Canada-accredited PCOC provider, or any government-issued boater card issuer. We are an independent study resource. To obtain an official boater education card or a PCOC, complete a course from a provider listed by your jurisdiction's boating authority — the relevant link is on every state and province page on this site.

Where we're going

We're working toward submission for NASBLA approval and Transport Canada accreditation so we can become an end-to-end provider. Until those approvals are in hand, our role is to be the best place online to learn and practice.
